New Version In The Works
A brand new version of GNUHH is in the works. Read on for more information on coming additions.
Version 3.0 of GNUHH will off several key features over the current release such as:
1) Stand alone server for the software so that operation of the apache web server will not affect the consoles.
2) New packages with stand alone (single server install) packages for a quick easy installation of the admin, server, client, and webmail consoles
3) Enhanced firewall features to aid in the latest attack implimentations on the internet such as against pop3, ssh, and imap to gain password information
4) All features of the mail support will be extended to the dedicated mail server software including postfix/mysql virtual mail
5) complete compatibility with mysql 5 and integrated database creation for the postfix/mysql virtual mail just like the admin and hosting server database creation from before
6) optimization of the code for even more improvement in performance
7) completely new interface with easier navigation
8) inline quick reference for commands
9) doing my best for complete package support for centos 4/rhel 4, and debian sarge or later
10) several annoying cosmetic bugs will be fixed (nothing security related, no security issues known at this time with 2.05)
11) additional firewall managed features such as additional recommended rules and policy management
12) drop in packages for configuration support for postfix virtual system, dovecot, and possibly more as needed.
I will try to add updates about the progress of the new version.
